3-2 Engineering Pathway
Oberlin’s 3-2 program allows students to spend three years at Oberlin and continue their engineering education at one of four partner schools: Caltech, Case Western Reserve, Columbia, or Washington University in St. Louis.

Meet with an advisor early and map out the courses required for the engineering fields and partner schools you are considering. Different paths require different prerequisites.
Use your second year to compare requirements across the four schools and catch course conflicts early. Some Oberlin courses run in only one semester.
Check prerequisites, deadlines, and financial aid against each school’s current official pages rather than anything summarized second-hand.
Housing, credit transfer, and aid all get settled directly with the partner school before you go.
